Loop ALPHA Flashlight

Track Flashlight acquisition, Inventory state, controls, charge, visibility use, and co-op ownership in Loop [ALPHA] without guessing unsupported mechanics.

Flashlight is a confirmed Loop [ALPHA] item. The official Two Flashlights? badge requires having 2 Flashlights in your Inventory at the same time. This proves the item name, that Inventory can contain Flashlights, and that two can coexist in the required state. It does not reveal where they come from, what they cost, how they are equipped, whether they use charge, or how they affect entities.

Use the live item description and Inventory state to answer those questions. Do not import battery, flicker, stun, or detection rules from another liminal game.

Confirm that the item entered Inventory

Before interacting, open Inventory and note the current entries. After pickup or purchase, open it again and look for the exact Flashlight label. Seeing a model in the world, holding a tool, or watching another player carry one does not prove it counts toward your badge.

For the official condition, both Flashlights must appear in your Inventory at the same time. If the second interaction replaces the first, combines them, or remains in the world, record the result instead of calling the badge broken.

Learn the current control

Use the action label shown on your device. Keyboard, controller, phone, and tablet prompts can differ. Determine whether the Flashlight must be equipped, selected from Inventory, toggled, held, or used through another interaction. Record the exact current label rather than publishing one platform’s key as universal.

Check whether the item state remains visible when you change rooms, Days, or Inventory selection. A visual beam, icon, or model can help confirm use, but it does not establish duration or charge behavior.

Test visibility without inventing an entity counter

Compare the same dark route with the Flashlight off and on. Note whether it changes visibility, reveals interaction prompts, alters an entity cue, or only provides light. Change one condition at a time.

The official Smiler badge says a Smiler can be stunned, but no first-party public text connects that stun to the Flashlight. Do not advise players to shine it at an entity unless the current game, a repeatable test, or a reliable current source establishes that link.

Check charge, loss, and persistence

Look for a meter, duration, warning, or changed beam state during use. If none appears, do not claim infinite charge. Test what happens after a Day transition, death, escape, drop attempt, and rejoin with a low-value run.

Record each transition separately. An Item can persist across one state and not another. The Alpha warning means the result also needs a check date.

Plan the Two Flashlights? badge

Choose an ordinary run where collecting a second Flashlight will not conflict with a more important mission or long-run goal. Confirm the first is in Inventory, acquire the second through a current legitimate route, and reopen Inventory before discarding or using either.

If the badge does not award, verify that both entries are yours, simultaneous, and actually labeled Flashlight. Note whether you were solo or in co-op and whether one came from another player. Those details may expose an ownership boundary without proving it universally.

Solo and co-op ownership

In solo, the Inventory comparison is straightforward. Keep a return route and avoid risking the run solely for a duplicate until you understand the source.

In co-op, compare who can see and interact with each Flashlight. After one player picks it up, check all Inventories. Do not assume it duplicates, can be transferred, or remains available for the rest of the group.

Flashlight mistakes

  • Counting world models instead of Inventory entries.
  • Assuming two held across two players satisfy one player’s badge.
  • Publishing a universal control from one device.
  • Claiming a battery or durability system without a live indicator.
  • Connecting the Flashlight to a Smiler stun without evidence.
  • Assuming the Item survives death, escape, or rejoin.
  • Calling a location permanent in a game where Days can differ.

Flashlight FAQ

Where do I get a Flashlight?

No stable first-party public source establishes a location or price. Read the current Day’s pickups and offers, and record the route as dated rather than permanent.

Can I carry two?

Yes, the official Two Flashlights? badge requires two in Inventory simultaneously. The exact acquisition and carry process still needs live confirmation.

Does it stun Smiler?

The official sources confirm a possible Smiler stun and confirm Flashlights, but they do not connect the two. Treat that method as unverified until repeated in the current build.

Does the Flashlight run out?

No supported public first-party rule answers that. Look for a current meter or state change and test cautiously.

Evidence status: Flashlight’s name and the simultaneous two-in-Inventory condition are Official. Source, price, controls, charge, light behavior, entity effects, persistence, and transfer rules need in-game testing.
