Loop ALPHA Upgrades

Evaluate Loop [ALPHA] Upgrades from the live offer, current run problem, Coin budget, persistence check, and solo badge goal without relying on an unsupported tier list.

Upgrades are a confirmed purchase category in Loop [ALPHA]. The official Pure Skill badge requires reaching Day 20 without purchasing any Upgrades or Items in solo play. That proves Upgrades can be purchased and that the game distinguishes them from Items. It does not publish the full list, prices, effects, stacking rules, refund policy, or persistence.

Choose from the current screen, not a frozen tier list. An Upgrade is useful when its live description solves the reason your run is failing and the purchase does not break the goal you chose for that run.

Read the full live offer

Before buying, record the exact name, description, cost, current Coin balance, and any limit or duration shown. Identify whether the effect improves survival, navigation, mission work, resource handling, or another clearly stated function. Do not infer an effect from the icon alone.

If the screen omits duration or persistence, treat those fields as unknown. Buy one low-risk example in an ordinary run and compare state after a Day transition, death, escape, and rejoin before investing heavily.

Prioritize the run’s main failure

Review the last two failures. If the same problem repeats, compare Upgrades that explicitly address it. Do not spread Coins across several unknown effects merely to own more categories. A focused purchase produces a clearer before-and-after result.

If failures differ because every Day changes, preserve Coins until a stable need emerges. Flexibility can be more valuable than a speculative advantage.

Preserve a Coin reserve

The current public evidence does not reveal future offer order or emergency costs. Decide a minimum reserve before opening the purchase screen. A strong effect can still be a bad decision if it leaves you unable to respond to the next Day.

Pocket Full creates a different incentive: at least 10,000 Coins before Day 20 in solo. If that is the run goal, every purchase must be judged against the threshold and deadline. See the Coins guide for a Day-by-Day ledger.

Respect the Pure Skill restriction

Pure Skill says no purchases of Upgrades or Items before reaching Day 20, solo only. Do not press an Upgrade purchase button during that attempt. Opening or viewing the offer is not described as a purchase, but ambiguous free, forced, gifted, or confirmation-less interactions remain unverified.

Keep a simple log of every shop or offer interaction. If the badge fails, that record helps identify what the current build counted.

Test stacking and persistence

When the same Upgrade appears again, do not assume it stacks. Read the live description for a level, cap, changed value, or unavailable state. If the game accepts another purchase, compare the result rather than declaring additive or multiplicative behavior.

Check state after a Day change, death, escape, and session exit. One transition can differ from another. Label your conclusion with the tested condition and date.

Solo and co-op differences

In solo, you control every purchase and can isolate the result. In co-op, compare each player’s screen before assigning a shared strategy. The public evidence does not establish a team wallet, group-wide effect, or shared price.

Let one player make a low-risk purchase, then compare balances, UI, and behavior. Do not call an Upgrade global because teammates benefited from a coincidental Day change.

Upgrade mistakes

  • Publishing a complete list when only a few offers were observed.
  • Ranking effects without version, price, or failure context.
  • Assuming every purchase persists.
  • Buying several unknown effects before testing one.
  • Spending during Pure Skill.
  • Ignoring the Pocket Full balance deadline.
  • Assuming a co-op purchase helps or charges everyone.

Upgrade FAQ

What are the best Upgrades?

No stable public catalog supports a universal ranking. Choose the live effect that solves your repeated problem while preserving the budget and run goal.

Are Upgrades permanent?

That is not established by official public text. Test one effect across specific transitions and record the current Alpha date.

Can Upgrades stack?

No general rule is verified. Read the current offer and compare a repeated purchase under controlled conditions.

Do Upgrades invalidate Pure Skill?

Purchasing any Upgrade is explicitly forbidden by the badge condition. Attempt Pure Skill in a clean solo run and avoid all Upgrade and Item purchases.

Evidence status: Upgrades as a purchasable category and the Pure Skill restriction are Official. Catalog, prices, effects, tiers, stacking, persistence, refunds, and team behavior need in-game testing.
